The 5 Elements of Bridal Shower Invitations
There’s not supposed to be any moment in a woman’s life as exciting and meaningful as her wedding day. And while the idea of a perfectly happy bride is wonderful, the person hosting the bridal shower may feel more than a little pressure to make her so. You aim to make the bridal shower an absolutely perfect event that the bride will never forget. And part of hosting a perfect bridal shower is, of course, buying the perfect bridal shower invitations.
1. Invitees. The length of the guest list will have a significant impact on the kind of bridal shower invitations you choose. Especially if you are on a budget, purchasing intricate invitations for a large number of people can get more than a little expensive. Before you can be sure about the kind of invitation you want for a bridal shower, it’s important to think through your guestlist. When you consider the number of attendees, it’s much easier to judge what kind of invitations your can get without breaking the budget.
2. Theme. When choosing bridal shower invitations, you’ll also need to consider the theme of the shower. Oftentimes, this theme matches the one chosen for the wedding, such as a Halloween themed shower for a Halloween wedding. Other times, the shower theme can be totally unrelated (and just be a lot of fun!) like a sexy underwear bridal shower. If you’ve chosen a theme for the shower, the bridal shower invitations should reflect that.
3. Design. How your bridal shower invitations are designed will generally be decided by your theme. But the tone of the shower should also be considered. Are you hosting a more formal shower? Then your invitations should have a more formal design. Having a casual bridal shower? Then go with fun, colorful bridal shower invitations. The design of your invitations will be the first thing to tell your guests what to expect from the bridal shower.
4. Printing. When purchasing bridal shower invitations, you have plenty of printing choices. For bridal shower planners on a budget, it’s often best to print your invitations on a home printer or in a printing shop. Easier (but generally more expensive) is purchasing invitations. When you purchase invitations, you can either buy them preprinted (cheaper), or you can have them specially designed and printed by a bridal shower invitations professional (more expensive). Many maids of honor simply order their bridal shower invitations online.
5. Wording. Wording for bridal shower invitations can be complicated; there’s a lot to take into consideration. The wording you choose should always reflect the bridal shower’s theme and its level of formality. Your bridal shower invitations’ wording also needs to go over any information you guests must know, such as gift or wardrobe requirements.

Every time you and your husband open a bottle in the future, you will fondly remember the shower and the person who gave you the bottle.
Food and cooking can be the centerpiece of the party too. One idea is to have all the guests bring the recipe of their signature dish. All the guests can then glue the recipe on a page in the book and decorate it however they want. You then have a cookbook of tried and true recipes and will remember your friends every time you make something from it.

the looks and the written prose. A card can be made to look simple or expensive depending upon the client’s tastes and personality. Too extravagant a look, may not have the right impression on the guests who may form an impression that you are ’showing off’. A sophisticated, well designed card with just the right balance of simplicity and affluence is what every client should strive for. The written prose can be formal or informal depending upon the couple’s outlook.

I had no idea what a Boppy pillow was before our baby shower, and it turned out to be the thing I relied on most (next to my husband) for the year after we had our first child. A good number of other guests who will be sent shower invitations may not know the first thing about being pregnant or bringing a baby home. Those guests have been looking for a good reason to go into that baby boutique and buy you the softest baby blanket known to man.
We decided to go with a theme that made my friends feel like they were not setting an expectation of lots of gifts. I sent out shower invitations for a “Wisdom and Wives Tales” party.

Choose your theme first, then choose bridal shower invitations to go with it. Before you buy the cards though, make sure you have looked at all your options and chose one your friend will love. Keep the personality and likes of the bride in mind.
Send out the bridal shower invitations in time to ensure all her friends can attend. If you have decided on bridal shower invitations that need to be specially printed, make sure you allow enough time for that so you can get them mailed in time.

An American newspaper article from 1904 implies that the word “shower” originates from a Victorian era practice of putting gifts in a parasol. No matter the origins, the shower was a way to replace the dowry or trousseau.
What began in the late 1800s, has continued to flourish into the 2000s. The current version of the bridal shower seems to be an American and Canadian custom. And here is where I believe the shower has taken a turn for the materialistic worse.
